Weird things happen. That’s the story of my life.
Weird things always happen to me. I’m a 1 percenter—not the elite, super rich kind. I mean the if there’s a 1% chance of an allergic reaction, it’s probably going to happen to me kind.

It’s not always a bad thing, though.
Sometimes 1% of people get a weird bonus benefit from a medication, and occasionally, I win that lottery—unless it’s weight loss. That never happens. 😒 It also never works with scratch cards or winning the lottery.

Anyway, I had planned to post on Wednesday. But life (and my eyeballs) had other plans. The week got derailed by an eye infection.
Again.
Third one since July started.

So, I called my primary care doctor, who told me to call my eye doctor. I make the appointment and off we go, to have my eyes looked at. Again.

She does the whole colored-eye-dye routine, searching for scratches or tears. Thankfully, nothing was injured. But she did find something unsurprising: chronic dry eye.

I know. I’ve had it forever. Every time I go in, they tell me the same thing: “Use eye drops several times a day.”
I nod.
I buy the drops.
They sit in my purse.
Untouched.
Rinse and repeat.

What I didn’t know? Dry eye disturbs the tear film and actually increase your risk of eye infections.
Gross, painful eye infections.
So… yeah. Maybe I should’ve been using those drops after all

Fast forward: I am now the proud owner of three kinds of eye drops. Two are for daily use, and one is a nighttime goopy mess. The daytime ones aren’t bad. But the PM drops? Imagine honey in your eyeball. Greasy, and disgusting. But at least my eyes aren’t crusty and dry when I wake up.

So that’s where I’ve been. Not ghosting you, just busy marinating my eyeballs.

Going forward, I plan to post twice a week. Sometimes you’ll get an update from the weird, chaotic corners of my life. Other times, I’ll share whatever new rabbit hole I’ve tumbled down on Google.

Whatever the topic, I hope you’ll enjoy being here.
Thanks for reading—and take care of your eyeballs.

Have a great weekend!

If you’ve ever stared at a screen so long your eyeballs begged for a spa day, you’re in good company.
